Where the Allies Stand
As World War 2 came to a close, one thing is for sure. The allies were attacking Hitler and the Germans on every front. After the last shots were fired, and the last bombs were dropped, the Allied forces saw Germany as a country that was up for grabs. As the Potsdam Conference concluded, Germany was to be spit in to 4 pieces, and was to be split between Russia, Great Britain, France, and the United States. At this conference the Allies also made it clear on how Germany would be disarmed, and what reparations would have to get paid.
The allies also wanted to make sure that the Germans that were responsible for such atrocities would be held accountable. When the Allies created the trials that would determine what war crimes were ordered and carried out by which one of Hitler’s henchmen. The main thing that was established was Germany needed to be rebuilt, The German people ended up being controlled by a leader who not only convinced his people that he knew who was to blame, and he convinced them of what was going to have to be done to redress their wrong.
